Tomorrow, when the bank opens, I cash in this check:

I'm gonna leave a note for my mom with $200 and say, "Here's the money I owe you. There's a friend of mine whom I met on one of the incel sites, who's coming by today to pick me up, and we're going to head up to Atlantic City. I'm going to put $500 on number 22 at the roulette wheel and see if I can get $17,500; and then if that works, we'll probably hang around awhile and see the rest of the city. So I'll probably be back sometime within the next few weeks."

You should tell her what you're actually doing, even if it's after you're dead. She shouldn't have that kind of shock of not knowing and then they just die and you can never see them again. Let her say goodbye properly. It's important, trust me.

It can't happen that way; she would intervene. You can't say goodbye to someone who will grab you and say, "Don't leave!"

Besides, what if I win at the roulette wheel; then I won't have any reason to kill myself.

Leave an automated message or email to trigger a couple of days after your death, detailing whatever you want to tell her.

I still don't get how you got all that money @Leucosticte. Just less than a month ago you wanted 200 dollars to go kill yourself, and now you're giving 200 to your mother and getting another 500 to go kill yourself. You're moving up in the world.

Right now I'm working on my reading list -- what books do I want to read before I die? Thus far, I'm taking out there:
  • Les Misรฉrables (Victor Hugo)
  • The Culture of Critique (Kevin B. MacDonald)
  • Skagboys (Irvine Welsh)
  • Trainspotting (Irvine Welsh)
  • Porno (Irvine Welsh)
I also want to get and bring:
  • Harmful Intent (Robin Cook)
  • The Old Curiosity Shop (Charles Dickens)
  • A Tale of Two Cities (Charles Dickens)
Harmful Intent is just another of Cook's formulaic thrillers, but I've tried to get through it twice and both times got interrupted by something or another, so I want to finally finish it.

But my time is limited, so who knows how much literature I'll be able to actually get through. I'd rather have more literature and not need it, though, than need it and not have it, since it's always possible to get bored with some book and want to give it a rest or stop reading. I've already read Les Mis once, and still remember the major plot points, so it remains to be seen whether I'll feel like reading that whole thing again.

I was thinking of bringing Bleak House but I just accidentally spoiled the ending by reading this wiki article. Jarndyce and Jarndyce - Wikipedia

Guess I should've known that the plot section might contain major spoilers.

Man, I wish I could tell you more details about what I'm up to, but I gotta keep it secret for opsec reasons. If I survive, though, I can reveal all afterward, but in that case all I did was take a vacation.

"But when you do a certain work, because that is what is your thing to do; you want to be a doctor, because you're fascinated with medicine, and all its problems, and you just... you like people so much that you want to heal them of their diseases; or for the same reason you might want to be a nurse; or you might be fascinated with problems of law, so you become a lawyer; or fascinated with religion, so you become a minister; then you got a vocation; 'cause you would do that thing whether it paid you very much or whether it didn't, because that's the one thing you have to do; if you're a painter, you have to paint; if you're a writer, you're one of those crazy people who just has to write. I'm a writer, I have to write."

Are you going to take library books out and then never give them back in because you'll be dead? :lolicool:

Ah man, I'm getting a last-minute resurgence of the will to live. This tends to happen at these kinds of moments. But I just have to use my intellect to suppress emotion, by telling myself, I lack a meaningful mission in life and this means I'm not able to function as a man should.

It's just like last-minute resistance to sex: a shit-test unleashed by your own mind against yourself. If you don't go ahead and kill yourself, your brain will perceive you as an insecure beta-orbiter, and will henceforward refuse to have sex with you. And who doesn't want to fuck his own brain?

JFL you don't lack a mission, you simply give up. I haven't seen anyone as brave as you in my long lonely life tbh. what a fucking waste.
